cruiser customizing

it has been a long road for cruiser customizing. membership of their web site had been stuck at a couple hundred members for weeks when i began work. they payoff was immediate. within nine months after i gave them their new identity and web site re-design, cruisercustomizing.com shot to 13,000 members and 23,000 product reviews.

during those months, i worked at building a strong brand for them. i created a few magazine advertisements and postcards for the owners, who gave them out by the thousands at bike rallies around the nation to promote their new venture. it was inexpensive and hands on. this marketing plan was successful because the owners were personable and fun to be around. it made new members feel connected to the website and the service. monthly newsletters from the owners to members extended this feeling of community.

in the past few years, cruiser customizing has printed thousands of promotional items from key chains to hats, rally banners and signage using the logo at the top of this page. they have also received t-shirt designs, more full-color magazine ads and a re-designed user interface for the cruisercustomizing.com website. their membership and product reviews have increased ten-fold, and their brand is as strong and fresh today as it was when i created it.

in less than five years, cruiser customizing went from two guys working at home wondering what to do next to 35 employees and 120,000 web members while becoming one of the strongest brands in the motorcycle industry. they have become my greatest triumph as a humble graphic design and brand consulting guru. their success makes everything i do worthwhile.

great job guys and thank you!
